D&K Mothering Sunday 3rd April Craft Fair in Lacock

My hasn't time flown, it does not seem that long ago we were getting ready for our last Christmas Fair of 2010 and here we are the beginning of April 2011 and ready to start D&K's new craft fair season at Lacock this Sunday 3rd April.
We are in The Village hall in Lacock and will be open to the public 11.am till 5.pm
High quality handmade British crafts available direct from local designers,artists, and skilled craftsmen at very affordable prices.
Some of the stalls with us are Givele Confectionery from Somerset with their scrumptious handmade chocolate and fudge.

Annabel O'Keefe who creates stained glass masterpieces ranging from these wonderful dragonflies and kites through to larger items such as contemporary mirrors, plaques and so much more. All individual one of a kind pieces.

Just a quick post to let you know i have booking forms for the Heddington and Stockley Steam Rally craft marquee, which will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of July 2011 please get in touch if you are interested in having a stall. Handmade crafts only.

The Heddington and Stockley Steam Rally has been an annual event for the past 38 years. It is one of the biggest steam rallies in the area, attracting exhibitors and visitors from all over the country and last year there where between six and ten thousand people attending over the weekend.

2011 Craft Fair Dates

Dates are now available for Lacock and Frome on the D&K website.
Dates for Stourhead estate in Wiltshire owned by the National Trust will follow shortly. What I can tell you is we will be there once a month from April until October. Please go to the National Trust website for details of Stourhead Estate and gardens if you have never visited.
I have also been asked to help organise the Craft marquee for the Heddington and Stockley Steam Rally and Country Fair to be held on the 2nd and 3rd of July 2011. Booking forms will be available shortly and i will post further details hopefully in the next few weeks. I helped out last year as well ad having a stall and had a wonderful time, it is one of the biggest steam rallies in the area, attracting exhibitors and visitors from all over the country. A brilliant day out for all the family with lots to see and do. You can check out some photos i took last year on Facebook .

Hello 2011!

Doesn't time fly! Christmas seems like a lifetime ago as we are now entering the second week of January. A time for new beginnings and New Year's resolutions most of which are usually broken in the first few days. Over the last few years we have seen a crafting revival that does not seem to be waning but gaining in momentum, which is wonderful news for D&K Craft fairs as we fully support all handmade crafts. I am and I’m sure my regular stallholders are looking forward to spring 2011 when we will be holding the first D& K Craft Fair of the year, to be held on Sunday April 3rd in the National Trust village of Lacock, so any of you wishing to participate please let me know by email. D& K Craft Fairs are for British homemade crafts only, so if you have not exhibited with us before please email some photos of what you intend to sell. Spaces are limited so reply asap!

The success of D&K craft fairs is all down to the hard work and effort put in by the stallholders and the wonderful customers who come to buy. So thank you all for your support over the last year, myself and all the stallholders really appreciate it and we look forward to seeing you at one of our events this year.

CRAFTS@ THE CHEESE AND GRAIN FROME
If you cannot wait till April, I do organise on behalf of the Cheese & Grain in Frome a craft market which is held on the 4th Saturday of every month. The first craft market of 2011 is Saturday 22nd January 9.30.am till 2.pm Browse 40+ stalls offering wonderfully unique handmade goodies. A shopper’s paradise, easy parking, warm indoor setting & lovely atmosphere. A café on site will be open offering a great selection of breakfasts, lunches and snacks.
The Cheese & grain is situated right in the center of Frome in the Market Yard car park.

The following weekend is the Stockley and Heddington Steam Rally 3rd and 4th July which is a great event for all the family

There never seems to be enough hours in the day to get done what needs to be done...
That said i have manged to gather together photos of some of the wonderful crafts that have been with D&K Crafts during the month of April in Lacock.

Louise of Pinky's Pantry ~ Traditional home-cooked jams,(My favorite is Raspberry) pickles and chutneys.. Louise also sells hampers and will make them up to order.

Silke of Dakini Creations ~ Handmade leather goods ranging from handbags, belts and wallets to cases for your IPods and phones. Silke welcomes commissions.

Martin of Daily Designs ~ Hand turned bowls, platters, trinket boxes, clocks and lamps. He works in native and exotic woods.

D&K Craft Fair Good Friday 2nd April 2010

Easter is just a couple of days away so this is a great opportunity to buy some extra special hand crafted gifts. With a wide range of quality handmade goods available at very affordable prices this is a great way to browse, try products, commission and buy unique items not available on the High Street.

From the village hall it is a short walk to Lacock Abbey former home of William Henry Fox Talbot a pioneer of photography and the Fox Talbot museum. So why not have a day out in Lacock, pop into our traditional art and craft fair then have a stroll around the beautiful village and pay a visit to the Abbey and photography museum.

Frome Cheese & Grain Craft Market 27th March

With over 45 stalls this month there will be an amazing array of local British handmade arts, crafts and produce available direct from skilled craftsmen and designers all under one roof.

The market is a great way to browse, view demonstrations, try products, commission and buy unique items not available on the High Street.

In addition to all of the lovely handmade items on sale there will be a chance to chat over tea or coffee & homemade cakes, or grab a snack at the cafe which will be open the duration of the market. With the introduction of a play area for parents and toddlers, and plenty of room for prams and strollers, the cafe is becoming famous among locals for its Balmoral breakfasts, lunches, coffee and cakes. D&K's first Craft Fair of 2010

Well, the first D&K craft fair of the year was held on 14th March Mothering Sunday. The weather could not have been better, with the blue sky and sunshine we had a very good turnout of visitors and we all had a great time catching up on all the gossip of the past few months. I even remembered my camera and managed to grab a couple of shots of some of the crafts to show you.

D&K Craft Fairs are held twice a month in the Village hall in the National Trust village of Lacock Wiltshire. We always have a hall full of wonderful British handmade items available direct from local designers, artists, and skilled craftsmen and its a great way to browse, try products, commission and buy unique items not available on the High Street.

In addition to all of the lovely handmade items on sale you are able to chat over tea or coffee & homemade cakes or grab a hot or cold snack at the craft cafe. Free Admission
